ALL02 - eComStation - Version 1.2 and Beyond
We will tell in brief what is new in eCS 1.2R and what is happening right now. What will be in the new version of eCS to be released next year on features. Also some small demonstrations included and what has been modified to OS/2 and added. For example bootable JFS.
ALL03 - External Print Servers and OS/2
Printing with OS/2 on a SOHO-LAN. Eleven different print servers from six major manufacturers are analysed in behaviour, performance and maintenance using OS/2. A short basic reflection on print servers and their application is included. This presentation is an improved version of the one that was already held at Warpstock 2001 in Toronto.
ALL04 - System Service Management for eComStation
Christian Langanke introduces the new System Service Management for eComStation, which he currently implements within the new project called "netlabs.org Workplace Shell Extensions" . This service management aims to control and monitor all suitable programs in the future as well as providing a graphical frontend for its configuration via a Workplace Shell extension. This session provides an overview on the goals of this project as well as its roadmap and the current status.
ALL05 - DFSee demonstrations and Q&A
Use the DFSee program more effectively by understanding its capabilities. Live demonstration of some of the most used functions like partitioning, managing LVM information, Imaging/Cloning, resizing and file-recovery. Contents partly driven by questions from the audience.
ALL06 - netlabs.org - A perspective for the eCS and OS/2 community
Now that IBM finaly wants to pull the plug we have to think about some long term perspectives for our community. This presentation will give some ideas about what could be done and what should not be done, followed by a discussion with the audience.
ALL07 - Creation of competitive software for eComStation
It will be shown how to use eComStation technologies to create competitive software together with an overview of available and recent technologies and software in the development pipeline. Demonstration of "native software" approach and its advantages.
ALL08 - NLS for those who will be translator for eComStation
A presentation about the problems and experiences of the 'Dutch eComStation Test and Translation Group' while translating for eCS the base product and many programs shipped with eCS 1.2 NL.

A presentation from the Development and NLS process within IBM where Developers and Software writers probably can learn about.
APP01 - Connecting eComStation and Palm OS Devices
This session will discuss some problems and solutions that eComStation users face when connecting a Palm OS device. Among other things, it will be shown how a full backup can be performed over a USB connection. Hopefully, we can also have some discussion about individual problems and solutions. So don't forget to bring your PALM to Warpstock!
APP02 - Maul Publisher V3
This version of maul has taken 18 months to develop. It has become more complex, and much more powerful. Yet on the surface little appears to have changed. Like an iceberg, much is hidden in the depths.
This free-ranging presentation will explore how the application can solve everyday challenges ranging from photo albums to vector graphics, and exploring flow charts, mail merge, and clipart in between. In fact there is so much to explore, that we will almost certainly run out of time...
APP03 - Introduction to ePDF
Introdution and overview about installation and setup of an working ePDF distilling system incl. printer driver and GostScript setup; ePDF in practice, demonstration of buidling an andvanced PDF file with ePDF.
APP04 - The ClipView suite of programs
The Clipview application suite enhance the text functionality of the OS/2 clipboard. All the utilities of the suite, PM & command line, will be demonstrated. If a "willing volunteer" can be found, then cross machine copy/pasting will also be shown. From the mail the author gets it seems many have not found all the tricks that can be done with these applications.
See David Saville, the author of the Clipview application suite, bringing the power of the OS/2 and eComStation clipboard to the maximum.
APP05 - Wireless LAN Monitor Update
With availability of the new generic MAC driver (genmac) of Willibald Meyer it will be possible to run selected network interface cards with their Windows drivers. By that especially in the domain of Wireless LAN newer standards as IEEE 802.11g (54 MBit/s) as well as WPA encryption are in reach. Herfore the Wireless LAN Monitor requires changes in order to adapt to that new driver, this session reports the current status of this project and demos the GUI extensions required for the new techniques.
APP06 - DocBook: A gentle introduction to XML publishing framework running also under OS/2
DocBook is open and standardized documentation format based on XML. During this presentation you will get familiar with DocBook and how to use it to deliver one single-sourced document to many different target formats like HTML and PDF.
The second part of the presentation will demostrate OS/2 tools which you can use to edit and process DocBook content on your favorite operating system.
APP07 - Communigate PRO - Installation and basic Configuration.
In this presentation we will show how to install and configure CommunigatePro. As this is time consuming, we will only show the basic configuration and features. During the demonstration, if there is a network connection, attendees can use their laptop to test and see results

DEV03 - An introduction to perl
This session will give a basic overview of perl. It will detail basic data types, logic structures and will include live examples of the power of the language - including regular expressions. Attendees will be expected to know basic programming principles, as it is not intended to spend half the time explaining what a loop is. REXX knowledge would be useful although not essential.
See David Saville at Warpstock Europe, a long term system programmer, OS/2 and eComStation user and scripting guru, presenting an insight to a popular scripting language.
This session will also see the introduction of a web interface to PMMail written in perl.
DEV04 - Advanced client/server side www programming
One of the basic service in modern world is hypetext transport protocol. Many people even in internet word means browsing web pages. You will see how it was developing, what kind of technologies are connected with it. There are number of languages, at presentation it will be said how each works, which language use and why. There will be examples of using sql, php, html, xhtml, xml, rss, css, js, dom and others. Also it will be said about security - holes and traps, accessibility - how to write good pages, schemes and templates - how to use them, scripting with client/server, tools under os/2 - what and why use, online equipment - validators/tidy/link checkers etc., usability engeenering, browsers - brief history, servers etc. and many other related things.
DEV05 - Developing MultiPlatform Text based programs in C with OpenWatcom and TxWindows
How to use the OpenWatcom C compiler to create multi-platform text-mode applications to be run on DOS, OS2, Windows-NT/XP and Linux, building on OS/2 or eComStation. As an example and useful resource as well, the user interface library TxWindows is presented and made available. Demonstration of most of the libraries features and capabilities using the DFSee program.
DEV06 - Qt GUI Toolkit Version 3 for OS/2
We will tell about the native OS/2 port of the Qt Toolkit Version 3, the famous open source C++ cross-platform GUI application development framework created by Trolltech.
The presentation will demonstrate the features of the current OS/2 version of the toolkit and will show how to build it under OS/2 and how to create native OS/2 Presentation Manager applications based on the Qt toolkit.
We will also tell about current limitations of the OS/2 version and about future plans of Qt for OS/2.
DEV07 - Doodle's Screen Saver meets Cairo
Developing new modules for Doodle's Screen Saver is easy. Now that the Cairo graphics library is available for OS/2, it is even possible to create nice modules without deeper programmer knowledge. The presentation will show how to create new screen saver modules quick and easy, using the Cairo library.
DEV08 - How to Create Mozilla Driven Applications Using PHP and XUL
In this session we will talk about: What is XUL, How does XUL work, Remote vs. Local (chrome), RDF, XMLRPC/SOAP, Using PHP to generate RDFs, Alternatives to RDF, XBL.
INT01 - E-mail privacy with GnuPG and Mozilla in eComStation
How to make e-mailing a little more private and secure with help of a free software that is called GnuPG and a suitable Plug-in for Mozilla or Thunderbird by the name Enigmail. The presentation will not dig very deep into theoretical stuff but instead be a more practical demonstration of how to install, configure and use GnuPG+Enigmail from eCS.
INT02 - Writing articles for the IT press
The session describes the basic process of preparing and writing an article for the IT press in general and OS/2 publications in particular. Different types of articles like product review, how-to, editorial and "experience report" are covered, as are issues like structure, target group, style, and common mistakes.
This session is for you if you are interested in writing an article but don't know how, you would like to get some tips for improvement, need to evaluate a product or create a manual for your business, or want to understand how the process works. (Target group: non-professional authors, IT and marketing personnel)
INT03 AND INT05 - Typo3 goes eComStation
In this Presentation we want to show how to install, configure and run an eComStation-Webserver consisting of the applications

INT04 - Tips & Tricks around the Mozilla Suite of Products
This Session will give you a quick overview on the Mozilla Products Firefox, Mozilla Browser Suite, Thunderbird and on some selected Extensions available today that might take your surfing experience to the next level. We'll look into some tune-able things hidden in the configs and close the session with a general Q&A. This will be an interactive session.

Diese Session spricht einige Probleme und Lösungen an, denen eComstation-Nutzer begegnen, wenn sie ein Palm-OS-Gerät anschließen. Unter anderem wird gezeigt, wie ein Komplett-Backup über eine USB-Verbindung vorgenommen werden kann. Es ist zu hoffen, dass auch einige Diskussionen über individuelle Probleme und Lösungen zustande kommen. Deshalb vergessen Sie nicht, Ihren PALM zu Warpstock mitzubringen!
APP02 - Maul Publisher V3
Diese Version von Maul benötigte für die Entwicklung 18 Monate. Sie ist komplexer und viel mächtiger geworden. Auf der Oberfläche scheint es, als habe sich nur wenig geändert. Wie bei einem Eisberg ist vieles in der Tiefe verborgen.
Diese frei gestaltete Präsentation wird aufzeigen, wie die Anwendung die alltäglichen Herausforderungen lösen kann. Dies reicht von Fotoalben bis zu Vektorgrafik und geht zwischendurch auf Flussdiagramme, Serienbriefe und Cliparts ein. In der Tat gäbe es so viel zu entdecken, dass wir Gefahr laufen, das Zeitlimit zu überschreiten ...

Einführung und Überblick über Installation und Konfiguration eines funktionierenden ePDF Brenn-Systems einschließlich Druckertreiber und Ghostscript-Setup; ePDF in der Praxis, Demonstration der Erzeugung einer ausgeklügelten PDF-Datei mit ePDF.

Die Clipview Application-Suite erweitert die Textmode-Funktionalität der OS/2-Zwischenablage. Es werden PM und Kommandozeile gezeigt. Wenn sich ein Freiwilliger findet, kann auch ein Copy/Paste zwischen mehreren Rechnern gezeigt werden. Den Zuschriften entnimmt der Autor, dass, wie es scheint, Viele noch nicht all die Tricks entdeckt haben, die diese Anwendungen bieten.
Erleben Sie David Saville, den Autor der Clipview Application-Suite, wie er das Letzte aus der OS/2- und eComstation-Zwischenablage herauskitzelt.
APP05 - Wireless LAN Monitor Update

APP06 - DocBook: A gentle introduction to XML publishing framework running also under OS/2
DocBook ist ein offenes und standardisiertes Dokumentationsformat, das auf XML basiert. Während dieser Präsentation werden Sie mit DocBook vertraut gemacht und Sie erfahren, wie es benutzt wird, um ein single-sourced Dokument in vielen unterschiedlichen Formaten wie HTML und PDF auszuliefern.
Der zweite Teil der Präsentation zeigt OS/2-Tools, die Sie verwenden können, um DocBook-Inhalt auf Ihrem bevorzugten Betriebssystem zu editieren und zu verarbeiten.
APP07 - Communigate PRO - Installation and basic Configuration.
In dieser Präsentation werden wir zeigen, wie CommunigatePro zu installieren und zu konfigurieren ist. Da dies zeitaufwendig ist, werden wir nur grundlegende Konfigurationen und Features zeigen. Während der Demonstration können bei vorhandener Netzwerkverbindung die Teilnehmer ihren Laptop benutzen, um zu testen und die Resultate zu sehen.
Kenntnisse über E-Mail-Server sind von Vorteil. Wenn Sie wollen, können Sie Ihren Laptop einbringen, um uns bei der Demonstation zu unterstützen.

DEV03 - An introduction to perl
Diese Session gibt einen grundlegenden Überblick über Perl. Sie bescheibt Basis-Datentypen, logische Strukturen und schließt Live-Beispiele der Mächtigkeit dieser Sprache ein, reguläre Ausdrücke einbegriffen. Die Teilnehmer sollten grundlegende Programmier-Prinzipen kennen, da nicht beabsichtigt ist, die Hälfte der Zeit zu erklären, was eine Schleife ist. Die Kenntnis von REXX ist hilfreich, jedoch keine Bedingung.
Erleben Sie David Saville, einen langjährigen Systemprogrammierer, OS/2- und eComstation-Nutzer und Script-Guru auf der Warpstock Europe wie er einen Einblick in eine beliebte Scriptsprache gibt.

DEV04 - Advanced client/server side www programming
Einer der grundlegenden Dienste in der modernen Welt ist das Hypetext-Transportprotokoll. Viele Menschen meinen damit das Browsen von Webseiten. Hier wird gezeigt, wie es sich entwickelte und welche Technologien damit in Verbindung stehen. Es gibt dafür eine Reihe von Sprachen. Auf der Präsentation wird gesagt, welche Sprache anzuwenden ist, wie und warum. Beispiele für die Verwendung von sql, php, html, xhtml, xml, rss, css, js, dom und anderen wrden gezeigt. Weiterhin wird etwas gesagt zur Sicherheit - Schlupflöchern und Fallstricken, zur Zugäglichkeit - wie man gute Seiten, Schemata und Templates schreibt und diese benutzt. Weitere Themen: Scripting unter Client/Server-Bedingungen, Tools unter OS/2 - welche und warum anwenden, Validatoren/tidy/link-Checker usw., Usability Engeenering, Browser - ein kurzer Überblick, Server usw. und viele andere damit zusammenhängende Dinge.

Die Präsentation wird die Features der aktuellen OS/2-Version des Toolkits demonstieren und wird zeigen, wie es unter OS/2 zu übersetzen ist und wie man native OS/2-Presentationmanager-Anwendungen erzeugt, die auf dem Qt-Toolkit basieren.
Wir werden auch über gegenwärtige Beschränkungen der OS/2-Version und die Zukunftspläne von Qt für OS/2 sprechen.

Wie man den E-Mailverkehr etwas vertraulicher und sicherer macht mit Hilfe einer freien Software, GnuGPG genannt, die auch als Plugin für Mozilla oder Thunderbird unter dem Namen Einigmail verfügbar ist. Die Präsentation wird nicht so sehr die Tiefen der Theorie eindringen sondern vielmehr eine praktische Demonstration dessen sein, wie GnuGPG und Enigmail unter eCS zu installieren, konfigurieren und zu benutzen sind.
INT02 - Writing articles for the IT press
Der Vortrag beschreibt das Verfahren bei der Vorbereitung und dem Verfassen eines Artikels für die IT-Presse im allgemeinen und OS/2-Publikationen im besonderen. Es werden verschiedene Artikeltypen wie Produkttest, Anleitung, Editorial und "Erlebnisberichte" sowie Fragestellungen wie Aufbau, Zielgruppe, Stil und häufige Fehler behandelt.

In dieser Präsentation werden wir zeigen wie man einen eComStation-Webserver installiert und konfiguriert. Dies umfaßt die Programme - Apache/2 - MySQL/2 - PHP/2 und das Open Source Web Content Management System Typo3.
